People ask: Where did you get the idea for Way of the Seed and who or what inspired you to write it?
First off and foremost understand that I write for myself. For me there is no target audience, demographic segment or market. I write about what interests me and that covers a lot of territory. Most any area of study that ends in ology and addresses the human condition and the history of humanity is for me an enjoyable playing field and my game is writing interesting stories.
As for the inspiration for Way of the Seed, I was reading an article about James Crick who along with Francis Watson modeled DNA. In the article he was quoted as having stated that unraveling and mapping the human genome would help answer the three questions that should be asked and examined by anyone who considered themselves educated.
Where did we come from? What are we doing here? Where are we going?
When I finished reading those three questions I had my basic plot line. All I needed was the answers and a story that would reveal them.
I would supply the answers and my characters would live the revelation. WOTS was born and eight hundred pages later I sat down with an editor.
